Dracut HS student diagnosed with viral meningitis

DRACUT, Mass. (WHDH) -- A student at Dracut High School was diagnosed with a suspected case of viral meningitis.

The superintendent has posted a letter on the school's web site alerting parents and students.

Viral meningitis is much more common than the bacterial or fungal forms of the virus.

The case is not thought to be related to the nationwide outbreak.
