KENNEBUNK, Maine (WHDH) -- Kennebunk police claim they have evidence that at least 100 men paid for sex with Zumba instructor Alexis Wright.
One of the confirmed names on the list of john's is James Soule, who served as mayor of South Portland in the early 1990’s and again in 2007 and 2008.
James Soule and his family own a window replacement business. His son Adam Soule stresses he now runs it.
“He’s okay,” Adam said of his father. “He doesn’t have any statement.”
Soule’s listed address on the Kennebunk police website is Fort Myers, Fla., but Soule spends part of the year in Maine, according to a neighbor.
The former mayor’s son said the elder Soule has no plans to do interviews.
When asked if his father denied the charges, Adam hesitated and said, “No comment on that.”
Police said 29-year-old Wright had sex with clients in the Zumba studio and in a second floor office space she rented nearby.
Soule made headlines a few years ago when he suggest South Portland and other southern Maine communities secede from Maine and form a 51st state.
