BILLERICA, Mass. (WHDH) -- Police said someone has been driving around firing paintballs and BB’s at people and property in Billerica.

A neighborhood in North Billerica was under attack Monday night.

“I heard clink, clink, clink and the window was smashed in the car and they shot my house,” said Michael Saulnier, who heard the BB shots.

Witnesses said a teen-aged boy was also hit as he stood by the road.

“One of the kids said he got shot in the chest with a BB gun,” said Sandra Hillson. “He was holding a cloth on him.”

“I heard a loud gunshot go off -- a loud BB shot go off -- and then I heard somebody scream and swear,” said Ashley Cunneen.

Billerica police said the shootings have gone on for two weeks, but now it’s more than just property damage.

“We had three people get shot [Monday], one on Boston Road in North Billerica and two on Old Elm Street in North Billerica,” said Lt. Roy Frost of the Billerica police department. “So, that’s why we obviously started to amp this up because people are getting targeted at this point.”

A man showed 7News damage to the minivan he drives for work. He and others saw the SUV involved in the shootings. Steven Saulnier said the suspects were driving a green GMC and wearing hoodies.

“We identified a suspect [Tuesday] and we are going to be seeking charges in Lowell district court,” said Frost.

Police said high-powered paintball and BB guns can cause serious injuries.
