LEXINGTON, Mass. (WHDH) -- Two Lexington co-workers will share a Powerball jackpot with $50 million.
Rosa Deleon and Reggie LeBlanc are walking on air. The two are co-workers at a Costco in Waltham and share tickets twice a week. On Thursday they discovered one was the big winner.
“We were told by a co-worker that it was one Massachusetts winner and I said, ‘Reggie, wouldn’t that be great if we won,’” said Deleon.
“I was looking at it, you know, one, two, three, four, five and the Powerball and then I showed a couple people up there in the break room and they said, ‘Yeah, you have the six numbers,’” said LeBlanc.
LeBlanc went back to the Shell station in Lexington where they bought the winning ticket and shared the news they had won the $50 million prize.
“He had a copy of the ticket on him and he was actually pretty calm about winning. I think we were more excited than he was,” said Adam Muise, the store manager.
Deleon and LeBlanc both want to buy houses and travel. She wants to share her good fortune with her five children and six grandchildren.
Now that LeBlanc has something to smile about, he wants to make sure he gets the smile he’s always wanted.
“I definitely need a lot of teeth work done and that’s one of my first things that I need to get fixed,” said LeBlanc.
The two are splitting the $50 million and are taking the lump sum of $33 million. After taxes it is about $11 million per person.
