Strangers save Christmas for Salem boy

SALEM, Mass. (WHDH) -- A sleigh full of presents turns up in Salem just in the nick of time.
Elves dressed in blue brought Christmas to a four-year-old boy.
“It’s amazing the generosity people have around Christmas time for a young child,” said a police officer.
For almost a day the presents piled up at the Salem Police Station. Good will from perfect strangers who heard someone had tried to take Damon's Christmas away.
“I thought he'd just have one or two, that’s about it. I didn't know he'd have all this,” said Summer Revia.
Revia had depended on a charity, Globe Santa to put presents under the tree. But when she got the box days before Christmas, someone had stolen the toys.
“This was the only thing I had for my son and now I have nothing,” said Revia.
The story tugged at the heartstrings of people all over Salem who decided to send Damon some Christmas cheer.
“There are caring people out there who will help you if you really need it,” said Revia.
Police are still searching for whoever stole the presents and they are asking anyone with information to contact the Salem Police Department.
