WESTFORD, Mass. (WHDH) -- What's considered a mess for some, means big bucks for others. Local ski hills and resorts got a much-needed dose of snow.

You may see a fresh blanket of the white stuff, but for the Nashoba Valley ski area, all they see is green.

“The ski business is the snow business. So when there's snow and we're excited about that,” said Pam Fletcher, Nashoba Valley Ski Area.

The first big storm of the season hit during school vacation week sending many outside to enjoy the snow.

“We’ve been waiting all year to get some snow. It’s been pretty ugly with the rain, but getting out and riding -- it’s great” said Chris Walsh.

After a rough season last year, many are hoping for better conditions as we dive into winter.

“We’ve been doing the snow dance as much as we can. But you never know what’s going to happen. We live in New England, we just have to keep our fingers crossed,” said Pam Fletcher.

“Anything more than last year is great but the warm weather doesn’t hurt either. Spring skiing makes everything nice in the park too,” Walsh said.

The hills are alive with snow lovers taking advantage of Mother Nature’s latest delivery.

“We were so happy to get a couple inches this morning and it was a little rainy but we love the snow,” said Dick Krieger.

People are excited for more snowfall on Saturday.
