William Lantigua sworn into office in Lawrence

LAWRENCE, Mass. -- The Commonwealth's first Latino mayor was sworn into office in Lawrence on Monday.

54-year old William Lantigua was sworn in at Lawrence High School.

The ceremony was expected to draw Latino activists from around the state, as well as dignitaries from the Dominican Republic, where Lantigua was born.

Lantigua also plans to keep his job as a state rep.
