Lynn man credited with stopping potential massacre

LYNN, Mass. -- A man who is credited with stopping a potential massacre inside a crowded Lynn bar is speaking out.
Back in December, a man walked into that bar with a gun and was preparing to fire when that hero stepped in.
Anthony Giangregorio, 45, was sitting in the China Lion when Anthony Gobbi allegedly stormed back in after being denied a drink.
"He looked directly at me, pointed the gun at me, shot twice in the air, and before he could even lower it half an inch I lunged at him,” Giangregorio said.
Giangregorio said with his heart pounding, he wouldn't let go of the gun.
"We were both wrestling with the gun...He could not break my hold. I had a tight grip on it but I wasn't letting go," Giangregorio said.
Giangregorio told 7NEWS he couldn't sleep through the night for a very long time after the incident.
"What if I went straight home that night and got a sandwich. There could be a lot of dead people. That's a scary thought," Giangregorio said.
Giangregorio said seeing Gobbi in court will start the healing process for him.
