PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- A winter storm is expected to bring snow and strong winds to Rhode Island.
The National Weather Service says the snow is expected to start Wednesday night and could last until Friday. It says around four to eight inches of heavy, wet snow is expected to accumulate.
The weather service warns that roads could get slippery and travel could be difficult.
The high winds could also cause power outages.
On Block Island, the weather service advises that there could be some minor coastal flooding, which could cause beach erosion in areas hit hard hit by Superstorm Sandy.
