BROCKTON, Mass. (WHDH) – Brockton police say they have lodged child abuse and neglect complaints against a man whose 9-year-old son appears in sexually suggestive rap videos posted online.

A 9-year-old boy slapping the rear end of a grown woman is just one scene from the many videos of Lil Poopy. He's a new, young rapper from Brockton, and he has a large fan base.

“Yeah [I have Lil Poopy’s CD’s]. Real good for a 9-year-old, real good,” one man said.

But when Brockton Police got wind of the videos, they filed a complaint of possible neglect and abuse against the boy's father.

“The matter’s been referred to the Department of Children and Family Services and we make a point of not commenting on juvenile matters,” said Detective Lt. Paul Bonanca, Brockton Police Department.

The video is raising some eyebrows.

“I’m kind of horrified. I have a 12-year-old grandson, and I would just never, just never” said Mildred Walker.

“That is insane. He’s nine years old and his parents allow him to do that?” said another woman.

But supporters of the child rapper argue that he's just acting, and that it’s all part of the business. They point out that he's appeared with established rap stars like Sean “P. Diddy” Combs, Rick Ross, and French Montana.

“Why kids like him a lot are the kids from Brockton High. He was over here like a month and half ago giving out CD’s and a lot of people took them. He’s a good kid,” said Rachel Minaj, a Lil Poopy fan.

As for the complaint against Lil Poopy's father, a friend who knows him says it's not warranted.

“He’s a good father. I’ve never seen anything wrong with that – the videos or anything like that,” said Anna Enriquez, a family friend.

7News attempted to contact the boy’s father but he was unable to be reached.

The State Department of Children and Families told 7News it has received the complaint from Brockton Police and is conducting a non-emergency investigation which could take up to 15 days.
