WEYMOUTH, Mass. (WHDH) -- A plow driver was charged with drunk driving after he allegedly drove a pickup truck into several oncoming cars and fled the scene.
Bruce Plovan was three houses away from home on Randolph Street in Weymouth when he saw headlights on the wrong side of the road.
“He hit me and I opened the door and all I could see was his taillights keep on going,” said Plovan.
Gary Sparks was sent to pick up the pieces.
“I went to pick up one of the cars, and then they called for another car, then my boss had to get another car. Then I had to go over to the South Shore Hospital emergency room to pick up the truck,” said Gary Sparks, a tow truck driver.
Police say the plow driver hit one car in Holbrook and six more in Weymouth, stopping only when he parked at the South Shore Hospital where he was visiting someone -- apparently unaware of the damage he'd left behind.
“The plow was really mangled up. The frame was all twisted,” said Sparks.
The 59-year-old plow driver from Holbrook is faces numerous charges including drunk driving and leaving the scene of an accident.
