9 hurt after 2 MBTA buses collide at Ruggles station
ROXBURY, Mass. (WHDH) -- Nine passengers were transported to nearby hospitals, suffering primarily from back and neck injuries, after two MBTA buses collided outside the Ruggles station early Tuesday evening.
The 47 bus hit the 45 bus next to the Ruggles T-station near the Northeastern campus.
The nine passengers were transported to hospitals and are said to have non-serious injuries. Some of the passengers were complaining about neck and back injuries. The drivers of both buses were not seriously injured.
The driver of the 47 bus is under investigation and will be cited for following too closely to the 45 bus.
For passengers trying to make the 5 p.m. commute, buses are still running. A slight delay is expected because of the crash. The buses have been towed away from the area and the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
