NTSB says engaged lock caused Taunton plane crash
TAUNTON, Mass. (WHDH) -- Federal investigators now know what caused a small plane to crash in Taunton, killing both men on board.
Agents from the National Transportation Safety Board say a lock was engaged on the plane's rudder when it crashed at Taunton Municipal Airport on Sunday morning. They say flying with that device affects the steering of the plane.
The two men were on board when the single engine plane crashed shortly after take-off. They were trapped inside as it burst into flames.
The victims, one Bridgewater and the other from Brockton, were both in their 60's.
The NTSB is now working to move the wreckage to an airport hangar for further investigation.
