Third suspicious encounter on South Shore reported
DUXBURY, Mass.(WHDH) -- Police in Duxbury are hoping to speak with a man after a suspicious encounter occurred Friday afternoon.
Residents along the South Shore are on high alert after possibly three suspicious encounters have been reported in the past two weeks.
The most recent incident occurred Friday afternoon when a driver approached a young girl walking her dog on Washington Street in Duxbury.
Police say they are looking for an older maroon sedan with rust on the fender and rear bumper. The person of interest in the case is described as a white man between the ages of 30 and 35. He was last seen wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt with a Washington Redskins logo.
This suspicious encounter comes after two incidents in the past two weeks on the South Shore.
On Thursday a girl in Bridgewater was approached in a similar fashion. While walking her dog in the area near Covington and Summer streets she was approached by two men driving green pickup truck.
Earlier in September a pair of men tried to convince a group of children to get into a car in Plymouth. Police chased that vehicle but the men were able to escape.
If you have any information on any of these incidents you are asked to call the local police department.
