Man arraigned in Taunton home invasions
TAUNTON, Mass. (WHDH) -- Miguel Erickson, 43, was arraigned Tuesday at Taunton District Court after a string of home invasions. Erickson is suspected in several burglaries and sexual assaults in recent months.
“My daughter is scared if he gets loose he is going to go after her. Now I could open my windows today,” said Lillian Connolly, Erickson’s neighbor.
Connolly says on October 3 her son caught Erickson peering into his 19-year-old sister’s window.
“He lied and said someone was breaking into his house. We didn’t call the police because we thought, you know, that he was looking at his house like he said,” Lillian said.
The Connolly family later alerted police. The Connollys were aware of a man that broke into another neighbor’s house and got into bed with a 58-year-old widow who was asleep downstairs.
Taunton police arrested Erickson Saturday in connection with that break in.
Police also say Erickson would not only enter homes while people were sleeping, but he would also enter bedrooms and initiate contact with sleeping women.
“This defendant is a habitual offender,” said Jeff Dailey, prosecutor.
Erickson has been in and out of prison since 1988.
