Walpole priest faces assault and battery charges

WALPOLE, Mass. -- The priest accused of abusing a man in June was in court on Monday.

Reverend Emile R. Boutin is facing charges of indecent assault and battery. Boutin pleaded not guilty to the charges back in June after allegedly assaulting a man.

A 21-year-old man had told police that Boutin followed him into a wooded area behind a parking lot and touched him inappropriately.

The victim said he ran out of the woods and called police.

Officers tracked Boutin down a short time later.
