Explosion reported at battery factory in Raynham

RAYNHAM, Mass. -- Officials responded to reports of an explosion inside a contained lab at a battery factory on Paramount Drive in Raynham on Thursday.

The explosion occurred in an isolated lab where industrial batteries are tested, and no one was inside the lab at the time. There were no injuries in the blast.

Workers at a car dealership across the street heard an explosion and called 911. They said they saw smoke coming from the building.

The company is still open and doing business.

Fire officials are still at the building to make sure the scene is safe.
