Boy accidentally shot with crossbow

PROVIDENCE (WHDH) -- A Rhode Island boy was recovering Friday after being shot in the eye with a crossbow.
The boy's father was sleeping when another man accidentally aimed at the ten-year-old’s head and the weapon fired.
Doctors say the dart passed through the boy’s eye and pierced his brain.
The victim's father says he couldn't believe it when he saw what had happened.
The 27-year-old who fired the weapon is charged with one count of firing in a compact area.
According to police, that man says he was showing the boy how to use the crossbow when it happened. The boy's father believes it was an accident.
The boy's father says his son will likely lose his eye.
