Young boy battling cancer skypes with Steven Tyler

UNDATED (WHDH) -- It was a wish-come-true for a little boy battling cancer; he got to sing with Steven Tyler.

Not only did the 7-year-old boy from Warwick skype with the Aerosmith front man, he also got a shout out on national television.

Tyler took some time out to spend a moment with Cole Grace, who dressed up in Aerosmith gear for the occasion.

Cole has an aggressive form of brain cancer. As he rested in the hospital, he had a wish.

“I wanted to sing ‘Walk This Way,’” Cole said.

“When he said that I asked, ‘why do you want to talk to Steven Tyler?’ and he said, ‘Cause I want to sing Walk This Way with him,’” said Cole’s mother said.

So Tyler made a wish come true on Skype.

“They were singing it together and like when Steven Tyler said, ‘Walk This Way,’ he'd get closer and closer to the camera,” said a family member.

Cole is now home, resting from three surgeries.

During a recent episode of American Idol, Steven Tyler said hello to his new friend and Cole said that moment was "pretty awesome."
