WAREHAM, Mass. (WHDH) -- Two men are accused of sexual assaulting a mother and daughter during a home invasion in East Wareham.
Robert Brown Jr., 18, and Kendrick Williams, 18, were in custody following an armed home invasion early Thursday morning.
“Multiple suspects entered the home -- approximately four or five suspects -- with hand guns and stole jewelry, money and the entrance was made by kicking the door open,” said Chief Richard Stanley of the Wareham Police Department.
Investigators said before suspects left the home they sexually assaulted a 49-year-old woman and her 21-year-old daughter. The women were treated overnight and released. They are said to be doing okay.
“During the course of the break-in and the robberies that were taking place, these individuals chose to sexually assault a mother and daughter,” said Stanley.
Police said Brown and Williams were arrested by detectives in separate motor vehicle stops on Thursday afternoon.
Investigators said they do not believe this was a random attack, but they do not know why the Dana Lane home was targeted.
“I think the residents…should realize this was not a completely random home invasion. We’re under investigation right now getting all the details,” said Stanley.
The suspects will be arraigned on Friday. More arrests may be made.
