QUINCY, Mass. (WHDH) -- A male masseuse was in court Thursday facing charges that he sexually assaulted a female customer during a massage at Whole Body Solutions in Quincy Wednesday afternoon.
John Edwards, 29, was arrested Wednesday night and was arraigned in Quincy on Thursday.
Prosecutors say Edwards admitted to police that he knew what he did was wrong.
“Later the defendant had admitted to the officer that he had not been telling the whole truth as to what had occurred. He admitted that he did touch the victim,” said prosecutor Farrah Hill.
When asked if the allegations seem out of character for Edwards his relative, Kathy Peterson, said, “Yes, they do…He has people request him all the time.”
Edwards was a licensed masseuse and worked at Whole Body Solutions on Hancock Street in Quincy. Since the allegations he has been fired.
A lawyer for Whole Body Solutions said Edwards complained that Edwards inappropriately draped her -- the sheet covering her allegedly fell off.
Edwards’ wife, who was in court Thursday, did not comment on the accusations. Edwards has a 4-year-old daughter.
The suspect is being held on $5,000 cash bail. He is due back in court in July, unless other allegations surface before then.
