SHELTON, Conn. (WHDH) -- A Connecticut man is accused of paying someone to beat up the teenager he said was bullying his daughter.

Now the parents of the girl who was beaten up are speaking out.

“She was screaming and crying that she was assaulted by an older person.”

That was the call Bill Landan received after his 13-year-old daughter was involved in a fight in this parking lot.

"She was picked up and thrown head first into a car. My daughter ended up with a concussion; according to Griffin Hospital, she had a concussion,” said Landan.

Police arrested a 42-year-old man after they say he paid a 17-year-old girl 21 dollars to fight a 13-year-old girl who he said was bullying his daughter.

Police also said that man grabbed another girl to stop her from getting involved in the fight.

"It's especially hurtful knowing that an older person, a parent would actually put his hands on somebody else's child,” said Bill Landan.

The father's attorney says none of the allegations are true, but police said the man planned it all out of retaliation.

The 17-year-old, who allegedly took the money and followed through with the plan, was also arrested.

The community is in shock.

"Just unbelievable. How could you, how could you,” said diner owner Jean Poniros.

The Landan’s said their daughter was not a bully.

"My daughter and his daughter had words way back in September," said Landan.

They say if there was a problem, it should have been handled differently.

Instead now their daughter is still recovering from her injuries.

"She still struggles with it. She looks over her shoulder," said Landan.

The Connecticut father was released on $10,000 bond.

He was charged with conspiracy to commit third degree assault and risk of injury to a minor.
