WEST BRIDGEWATER, Mass. (WHDH) -- State police said a crash involving three vehicles on Route 24 in West Bridgewater has left two people dead.

State police told 7News a car in the northbound lane driving south caused the head-on collision around 4 a.m. Sunday.

State Police said the wrong-way vehicle struck an SUV which rolled several times and burst into flames. State police say a girl in her late teens was driving one of the vehicles and a man in his 40s was driving the other. Both were killed.

Investigators won’t say which driver was driving the wrong way.

Investigators spent several hours at the scene reconstruction the wreck. Route 24 North between West Bridgewater and Brockton were shut down for several hours but has since reopened.

A third vehicle was involved in the crash. That driver suffered minor injuries.

Police have not released the names of those involved until their families are notified.
