WALPOLE, Mass. (WHDH) -- Police arrested a man with several weapons in his car, including a gun and knives on Thursday.
Police said they seized a semi-automatic pistol with a fully loaded magazine, a loaded round and a 4-foot-long samurai sword. Police also found a ‘Scream’ mask and gloves.
Michael Duhaime, 39, of West Warwick, R.I. is being held on multiple charges including illegal possession of a firearm.
Police initially stopped Duhaime for having a Colorado license plate with an expired Massachusetts registration sticker on the plate.
It is unknown if Duhaime has committed a crime, or was planning to commit one. Police are working to uncover a reason or a motive for having so many weapons.
“He didn’t give us a lot of information when we interviewed him. We do know that he worked at a store here in Walpole but that he had been not scheduled to work on this particular day. So, to this point we really don’t know why he was in Walpole at the time of the stop,” said Dep. Chief John Carmichael of the Walpole Police Department.
Investigators are trying to contact law enforcement agencies from Colorado to Massachusetts to see if the suspect is connected to any crimes. Duhaime is being held on five thousand dollars cash bail.
