1 dead, 1 in custody in Attleboro car accident

ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WHDH) -- One person is dead and another is in police custody this morning - following the late night crash in Attleboro.

Police said one of the cars involved - had just fled the scene of another accident.

The impact of the crash was so severe - crews had to use the Jaws of Life to reach both victims.

Police said the jeep was involved in a hit-and-run accident in Plainville - just a bit earlier.

A 32-year-old Rhode Island man is in custody.

He’s been charged with vehicular homicide, DUI, driving to endanger and speeding.
