Kids catch their bus driver texting behind the wheel

HARTFORD, Conn. (WHDH) -- Parents can't believe what their kids caught on camera -- a school bus driver - actually texting behind the wheel.

The students said they were scared by the driver's distracted driving.

Those students were getting so concerned, that they took matters into their own hands.

Students said that driver wasn't just texting behind the wheel but checking Facebook as well!

After getting complaints, the school district contacted the bus company who said the driver no longer transports students.

Parents said, that’s not enough.

"I'm worried that she's going to drive somewhere else for another bus company or she's just going to be driving on the streets in her own car, texting and driving when our kids our walking across the street,” said parent, Laurie Stulpin.

The bus line said it is investigating the driver.

The Department of Motor Vehicles said the parents did the right thing by having their kids gather the visuals as evidence of the driver's dangerous actions.
