MILTON, Mass. (AP) -- Police say a 75-year-old Randolph man has died after getting struck by a car as he tried to cross a busy street.

Police say Odson Vincent was struck as he crossed Route 28 at about 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

The Patriot Ledger reports that officers responding to several 911 calls found Vincent lying on the southbound side of the four-lane highway. He was alive and taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Milton Hospital where he died.

The driver of the car that struck Vincent stopped and called for help. The driver, whose name was not made public, has not been charged.

There are no crosswalks or stop signs at the accident site. Milton police said speed doesn't appear to be a factor and that Vincent was wearing dark clothing.
