WALTHAM, Mass. (WHDH) -- A state trooper was hit while working in Waltham Tuesday morning. The accident crew was on the scene on I-95 Southbound between exits 37 and 36.

Two left lanes were closed.

The state trooper was there working a construction detail. He was inside his cruiser when he was rear-ended. The cruiser sustained moderate damage to the back end but the trooper was not hurt. He was alert on the scene walking around talking to the other troopers giving details about the accident.

7News was told there were at least two people in the car that hit that state patrol car. Two of those people went to the hospital with what were believed to be minor injuries.

Traffic was getting by during the early morning commute but there were a number of police cruisers on scene as well as both cars involved in the accident as they tried to reconstruct the accident and figure out what happened. Those headed in to work early were urged to leave early and take things slow, especially in construction zones.
