TAUNTON, Mass. (WHDH) -- A deadly drive in Taunton claimed the lives of two teenagers in a single-car crash Sunday morning.

There were six people riding in the two-door Honda that lost control and smashed into a tree. Police confirm they found a bottle of alcohol in the car, but are uncertain whether it factored into the crash.

Jason Neto, 19, and his close friend and neighbor, Eden Macedo, 18, were killed in the crash.

“Both of them together were just like a big party. I can’t believe they’re gone. I’m still in shock. I can’t even like cry about it, it’s just too much,” said family friend, Madeline Sousa.

The other four people in the car were injured, including the driver. All of them are from Taunton.

“You don’t know what to say, it’s just shocking so there’s not much words,” said a friend of the victims, Darius Elder.

Friends said it’s a heart wrenching loss so close to the holidays. Mourners continue to bring flowers  to the scene of the crash on Sunday night.

“He was 18 years old. He was just starting his life. Just to hear that he’s gone. I just can’t even say anything,” said Nick Lorden.

“I am just completely devastated. I still can’t believe it whatsoever. He was amazing. He was an amazing, amazing person,” said Kayla Dakin.

The cause of the crash remains a mystery, but police said they believe some of the passengers may have been sitting on their friends' laps. They are also looking at speed as a possibility.

No charges have yet been filed in this accident.
