BRIDGEWATER, Mass. (WHDH) -- The Bay State is being hit with a mix of snow and rain causing slippery driving conditions for drivers and a long night of work for plows.

“It’s hectic! It will be tough,” said Carlos Marcel, a plow driver.

Drivers are forced to go slow and deal with slushy conditions.

“Slush, it’s just really slippery, it’s nasty. You would think it would be a little less horrible,” said one driver.

Where it was snowing, the big flakes are causing some drivers to have trouble seeing the road.

“A lot of the places down south Taunton towards Fall River it’s hard to see the lanes, fog lines, really not there anymore, cars going back and forth” said Derick Rondeau, a truck driver.

But for plow drivers, this is what they've been waiting for.

“I’m glad. It’s money in my pocket and I’m sure its money for the snow plowers out there too. Extra money doesn't hurt,” said Marcel.

Traffic has slowed and drivers are pulling off of Route 24 South to clean off their cars.
