Firefighters battle massive fire in Brockton

BROCKTON, Mass. (WHDH) -- A late night fire forces families out into the cold.

Fourteen adults and two kids had to evacuate the apartment building, in Brockton.

Everyone made it out safely including more than a dozen pit bull puppies.

The fire chief said firefighters had trouble reaching hydrants because of all the cars parked on the street.

The Red Cross stepped in to help the families.
