PEMBROKE, Mass. (WHDH) -- Seventh graders at Pembroke Community Middle School have teachers doing a double take.
There are 16 sets of twins and one set of triplets in the same grade, according to Donna McGarrible, the school’s principal.
“Sometimes they just mix us up,” said Eric Kaplowitz, a twin.
“I never thought a school would have so many pairs of twins or even a set of triplets. I think it’s really cool,” said Kristen Reiser, a twin.
Thirty five students are either twins or triplets at the school.
One father thought this unusual statistic it might be a record.
With only 313 seventh graders the twins and triplets make up more than 10 percent of the class, but when it comes to sets of multiples they only tie the Guinness World Record.
The students love it, even if they won’t get official recognition.
“We’re all friends, we all like each other,” said Madison Monti, a triplet.
They like to goof off like any other middle school student, but as for twin pranks the principal said if they’re pulling them she doesn’t know about it.
Nick and Brandon said they only tricked a teacher once while they were in kindergarten and they got away with it -- until now!
With all the sets of multiples in the grade only three sets of them are identical.
