WORCESTER, Mass. (WHDH) -- Worcester got about 23 inches of snow Friday, bringing the season total to over 100 inches of snow.
Residents weren’t expecting nearly two feet of snow on Friday and they spent the day shoveling their driveways and sidewalks. The city has an ordinance that requires residents to clear sidewalks within 10 hours after the snow stops falling.
The city had 350 pieces of equipment out clearing snow on Friday afternoon.
The 101.7 inches of snow that has fallen in Worcester so far this season is now sixth for all-time snowiest winters for the city.
A parking ban was in effect and school was canceled Friday.
