Town of Wilbraham mourns death of Amy Lord
SOUTH BOSTON (WHDH) -- Amy Lord was described as a bright, energetic and full of life.
News of her death shocked an entire community in her hometown of Wilbraham. Wednesday night, hundreds of people came out to show their support and to mourn together at a candlelight vigil in her hometown. Thursday night, organizers held a fundraiser at a restaurant.
Amy graduated from Minnechaug Regional High School in 2007 and from Bentley University in 2011. Friends of hers said a few words.
“She just made everyone feel like they were your best friend and she just really wanted to be there to support other people,” said one friend.
“There’s no words to say how you really feel. It’s like you just need to go through the motions and just kind of take it day by day,” said another friend.
A wake will be held for Lord on Monday, followed by a funeral on Tuesday.
Many people in Lord’s South Boston neighborhood are concerned whether her killer is behind bars or is still on the loose.
