Violent domestic dispute hurts bystander
OXFORD, Mass. -- A man and a woman are facing charges after a domestic dispute hurt a bystander.
The individuals involved in the dispute are Alexzander Schmitt and Khlylie Provencher, both 21, and well acquainted.
Witnesses in the parking lot said the situation looked like a violent abduction. They said a man, likely Schmitt, forced a woman, Provencher, into his truck and fled.
“He was driving doughnuts around this girl,” said Jose Santiago, a witness. “I guess she was trying to get away from him and he didn’t want that so he was doing doughnuts around her.”
Black circular tire tracks are left in the parking lot.
“He pulled up on the side of her, argument continued and she yelled, ‘No, no, no I don’t want to go,’ according to witnesses at that point he grabbed her and pulled her back into the truck,” said one officer.
Police said several witnesses tried to intervene, but the suspect struck one witness and took off. That witness called 911 and explained the situation.
Police said the suspect left more tire tracks after driving wildly over curbs and medians trying to get away. Police used a license plate number provided by witnesses to track down the 1999 blue Ford pickup and link it to a possible suspect.
Police said the situation may turn out to be a domestic dispute. Schmitt is facing five charges in connection with the incident including assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. The woman with him is being charged as an accessory to the crime.
