This winter is a treat for Worcester residents

WORCESTER, Mass. (WHDH) -- March came in like a lion in Worcester. Just as residents were starting to think ‘spring,’ they were reminded: It’s still winter.
“It’s the first of March and it’s the most snow we’ve got all year,” one man said.
The early morning snow meant a messy commute. Wet, slushy roads forced residents to get up early and shovel. For plow drivers, it’s a welcome sight.
“This is a treat,” one driver said, smiling.
With the last major snowfall hitting on Halloween, the white stuff isn’t so unpleasant this time around.
“Compared to last year, it’s a breeze, it’s a cake walk right here,” one man said. “People gotta figure it’s New England. You gotta bear it.”
Most roads in Worcester had been plowed or treated Thursday morning, making for smoother travels as the day wore on.
Schools in Worcester were closed Thursday.
