2 people shot in Worcester

WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) -- Police say two people have been shot in Worcester.

Police say a 23-year-old man was shot several times outside a car, and a 58-year-old woman was shot in the abdomen at about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.

No names were released and the conditions of the victims were not made public.

Police were looking for a car in connection with the shooting.

Witnesses tell The Telegram & Gazette that the woman was sitting in the front passenger seat of a car with another woman and a 7-month-old baby. The other victim was in the process of getting into the back seat when a car drove up next to him. Witnesses told police that the male victim approached the other vehicle, and after a brief verbal exchange, opened fire.
