SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WHDH) -- Some drivers in Springfield say their commute has turned into a dangerous drive because people are throwing rocks off of bridges.

One woman’s car was hit twice -- once in December and again a few months ago. Her new Toyota had extensive damage and she had to pay a $500 deductible to get everything fixed, because anything damaged by the children throwing rocks was considered vandalism.

One Springfield resident said he saw a truck driver pull into a gas station across the street because the driver was hit in the chest by a rock.

Springfield police said there have been 15 reported incidents of kids throwing rocks at cars in the last six weeks, but many drivers say it has been going on for months.
