FRAMINGHAM, Mass. (AP) -- Framingham police say an Ashland man whose blood-alcohol level was more than five times the legal limit for driving was on his way to a bar when he was involved in a minor traffic accident.

Police say 62-year-old Richard Creighton took a Breathalyzer test after his arrest Monday afternoon, and blew a 0.41. The legal limit is 0.08.

He allegedly told police he had been drinking at home and was heading to a local pub.

Police say Creighton could not stand on his own so police did not conduct field sobriety tests.

Creighton was charged with driving under the influence of liquor and driving to endanger.

The MetroWest Daily News reports that he pleaded not guilty at his Framingham District Court arraignment Tuesday and was released without bail.
