ROCKLAND, Mass. (WHDH) -- Dive teams searched a pond in Rockland after State Police detained a man who they accuse of putting two military style bags into Reed's Pond.

Dive teams recovered the bags, which contained the man's personal items.

The man was reportedly overheard saying "I’m sorry, I’m sorry." He then allegedly swam to the other side of the pond.

He has been identified as a 26-year-old man from Rockland.

Rockland Police, State Police, and the Rockland Fire Department were all called to the scene.

The public was not in danger during the ordeal.
