GREENFIELD, Mass. (AP) -- An apparent prank on the highway with a fake but realistic-looking gun prompted a large police response and earned four college students a date in court.
State police say they received several calls at about 4 p.m. Sunday about a car on Interstate 91 in the Greenfield area in which a rear-seat passenger was pointing a gun at the driver.
When police pulled the vehicle over, they found that the gun was an Airsoft pistol, which looks real, but shoots plastic pellets.
Police tell The Recorder that all four were summoned to court on disorderly conduct charges. One also faces a fine for having a small amount of marijuana, while the driver was charged with operating with an expired registration and failure to stop for police.
