Fitchburg digs out after 10 inches of snow

FITCHBURG, Mass. (WHDH) -- The first winter storm ripped through Fitchburg Wednesday night into Thursday, leaving behind more than 10 inches of snow.
All of the snow is a heavy price to pay for the people who waited to clean up.
“It’s very heavy snow. It’s like back-breaking snow that you don’t want to deal with. A snow blower can’t even take care of it,” said one resident.
Along with the shovels, plows crisscrossed the city trying to clear slick roads that sent some cars skidding and others stuck.
“The roads were bad in Fitchburg. They were bad. A lot of accidents and cars off the road,” said Randy Chesborough of Aldrich Towing.
Chesborough bailed out six cars Thursday morning, hours before some people managed to get their cars moving.
