UNDATED (WHDH) -- We all know at least one person that owns an iPad - but you probably don't know of any apes that have one.

Orangutans at the Smithsonian's National Zoo are now using iPad apps to keep occupied.

Zoo keepers said it offers a new way to engage their sight, touch and hearing.

The apes there are using 10 different apps.

The iPads were made available through the Apps for Apes initiative.
