LUBBOCK, Texas (WHDH) -- A toddler, tossed from an SUV when a police chase came to a crashing end, narrowly missed being crushed by the vehicle but walked away with just minor injuries over the weekend.

The police chase in west Texas took a startling turn when the infant ended up on the road.

Police were chasing robbery suspects Saturday night when the suspects' SUV rolled over and the young girl was ejected out the back window.

She then started walking back to the SUV until someone went back to retrieve her.

Chelsea Bettenbough, the victim of the alleged robbery, had a hard time believing what happened.

"He got out of the car and he had a gun and he said, 'give me all your stuff'," she said. "He was getting in the car and I just said 'And all that with a baby in the back seat.’ So, and I'm not sure if he heard me or not."

Police say the girl's parents were inside the SUV.

They have been arrested.

Despite being thrown, the young girl suffered only minor injuries and is now staying with other relatives.
