Man with no legs climbs Mount Kilimanjaro

UNDATED (NBC) -- A climber from Toronto who lost his legs at the age of five managed to do something many people would not even try when he climbed Mount Kilimanjaro this week.

Spencer west, who is 31, trained for an entire year and managed to climb 80-percent of the mountain with just his hands, the rest of the climb he was in a wheel chair.

It took seven days to get to the summit of Kilimanjaro, the tallest peak in Africa.

West posted on his blog, "Never Second-guess what's possible, that doubt will be obliterated."

The climb raised more than $500,000 for an African charity.
