Aussie divers get a close-up with a great white shark

GERALDTON, Australia (WHDH) -- Two divers off the coast of Australia were spear fishing when a great white shark appeared.
Nathan Podmore put a camera on his head to film a spear fishing trip, but he ended getting an up close shot of the last thing he wanted to see: a great white shark.
Podmore and his friend Dave Richards were too far to swim to shore and the shark was between them and their boat. The shark circles the boys three times in three minutes well. With incredible control the two divers stay calm and then the shark he turns toward them.
A spear gun and a knife were all Podmore and Richards had as weapons. Climbing out the water never felt so good.
They were in the water ten minutes on Saturday.
“In the water it just looked massive. In hindsight, it was probably 3.5 or 4 meters, maybe more,” said Richards.
Richards said jabbing the shark with their spear guns was all they could do.
“I think if it wanted to it could’ve made a meal out of us really,” said Richards.
