NE Aquarium rescues leatherback turtle

BOSTON (WHDH) -- Workers at the New England Aquarium are faced with the monumental task of trying to keep a giant turtle alive.

The 655 pound sea turtle was found on the coast in Truro earlier this week.

It had stranded itself on shore. Leatherback turtles rarely come on land.

It’s currently being treated at the New England Aquarium’s Marine Animal Care Center in Quincy.
