Surveillance video shows Utah plane heist

UNDATED (WHDH) -- Surveillance video was released of a plane heist in Utah. A murder suspect tried to steal a commercial airplane, crashing into buildings at an airport.

Brian Joseph Hedglin was a Skywest pilot who knew where the jet was, and how to start the engine.

Hedglin was a wanted man who police say stabbed his girlfriend to death three days earlier in his Colorado Springs apartment.

Instead of taking off, he headed toward the airport’s parking lot in the plane. In that lot, he damaged several cars and then shot and killed himself before police arrived.
