Symphony written by WWII veteran played 60 years later

More than 60 years ago, as World War II was coming to a close, an army colonel composed a symphony on the story of the war.

For decades, that music lay dormant.

But this week, the United States Army band performed the symphony, giving the composer his first chance to hear the work he created six decades ago.
