Gun discharged in Calif. movie theater

UNDATED (WHDH) -- Michelle Miller couldn't wait to take her daughter to the final twilight movie but once the theater went dark, panic set in after she heard a gun go off inside the theater.
Police rushed to the scene not knowing if they were responding to a mass shooting.
Responding officers quickly learned the shooter was an off-duty corrections officer.
The bullet left a hole in an armrest and the floor. A woman claims to have been hit by shrapnel. Luckily, nobody was seriously hurt.
Police confiscated the gun. It's being tested to see if there was a mechanical malfunction but the corrections officer was not arrested.
